Steps

  1. This is a very basic meal that everyone should learn how to make. If you would like to add sausage to your sauce, chop it into chunks and brown it in a frying pan (cook it until it\\\'s almost done), then put it in the sauce. You can also chop up onions, peppers, tomatoes, or whatever sounds good to you and add it to the sauce as well.
  2. In a pot, cook the sauce (which should have your meat and veggies in it, if you want them) at med or med-high. You can add black pepper, garlic, basil, salt, red pepper flakes, or any other flavorings while it cooks. Make sure to stir occasionally.
  3. While the sauce cooks, get ready to cook the pasta. Fill a pot with water and heat it on a slightly lower temperature than you have the sauce, since it will take less time to cook the noodles than the sauce. Bring the water to a boil. Ideally, the sauce and water will come to a boil at the same time. Turn the sauce\\\'s heat down to low when it reaches boiling point and just let it simmer while the noodles are cooking
  4. Add a half package (or whole, if you want leftovers) of noodles to the boiling water. Put in a pinch of salt (to prevent the noodles from sticking). When the noodles start to soften, stir them once in a while. If they look done, take a noodle out and test it first.
  5. Strain the noodles when done, turn the stove off, and serve.
